Shoaib says Australia will have an edge over Pak in UAE series

By Super Admin

Karachi, Apr.8 (ANI): Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar sees Australia having an edge over them in the forthcoming One-Day International series in the UAE.

Akhtar, who was included in the team for the April 22-May 7 series after he was declared fit following a series of extensive fitness tests, said Pakistan has not played much international cricket in recent times unlike Australia, which clearly hands the Kangaroos the advantage.

He pointed out that though the Australian team is not the same it used to be three-four years ago, it still has the capability to beat the best teams of the world.

"Australia is still one of the best teams in the world despite their recent form and for us it is going to be a very hard series," The News quoted Akhtar, as saying.

Akhtar said he has regained his rhythm, and was looking forward to the five one day matches to be played in Abu Dhabi and Dubai during the series.

He said it is always special to play and perform against teams like India and Australia.

"Playing against Australia is always special just like against India. They are always tough opponents so a good performance against them is always extra special and sweet for me and the team," Akhtar added. (ANI)
