Shreyas Iyer was a key factor as the Mumbaikar led them to the Final for the first time since 2014. Although they missed out on the trophy to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the bar of optimism has definitely raised since last year. As the 'Shers' from Punjab bid for another strong campaign, Shreyas is definitely set to play a crucial role.

After preserving their core from last season, the Kings have added a few players to their ranks. One of the players who will continue from 2025 is Suryansh Shedge, a promising all-rounder from Mumbai.

Suryansh Shedge, the explosive 23-year-old Mumbai all-rounder retained by PBKS, adds youthful firepower as a death-over finisher. Known for his blistering strike rate, he offers handy medium-pace bowling and fearless hitting in the lower order.

Under Iyer's mentorship and Ricky Ponting's coaching, Shedge, limited to five appearances in 2025, eyes a bigger role this season.

Suryansh Shedge and Shreyas Iyer have a Strong Bond

While speaking in an Exclusive Interview with MyKhel recently, Shedge talked highly about his PBKS captain and fellow Mumbai senior Shreyas Iyer, depicting the learnings he has had from the India pro.

"Shreyas bhaiya and I have had a lot of talks. Most of the time, we are on the same wavelength. Our mindsets match a lot and that's why we have the rapport," Suryansh said.

"He knows the art of coming back, that's what I have learned from him. I have learned how to control your emotion and come back from any situation."

A champion swimmer at the youth level, Suryansh's career took a cricketing turn in his teenage years. The youngster has been known for his destructive batting, but along with that, the PBKS all-rounder is working on his bowling as well.

"I think that (bowling) has been a big change this year. I focused a lot on my bowling as well. And because I'm an all-rounder, one thing that is clear to me is when I'm batting, I'm a batter, and when I'm bowling, I'm a bowler."
