Shreyas Iyer is one win away from a long-awaited trophy. After guiding Punjab Kings to the IPL 2025 final earlier this year, only to fall short on the grand stage, the Mumbai stalwart now has a fresh opportunity for silverware as his SOBO Mumbai Falcons stormed into the final of the T20 Mumbai League 2025 with a commanding five-wicket win over Bandra Blasters.
Playing at the Wankhede Stadium in the second semi-final, Iyer's Falcons delivered a clinical all-round performance. The Blasters, opting to bat first, were restricted to 130 runs - a total that always seemed under par. Akash Parkar was the standout with the ball, scalping three wickets and maintaining relentless pressure through the middle overs. Dhrumil Matkar (34) and Akash Anand (31) were the only batters to offer any resistance.

In response, the Falcons' chase was anchored by opener Ishan Mulchandani, who remained unbeaten on 52. The elegant right-hander soaked up early pressure and then accelerated with ease. Parkar followed up his bowling heroics with a quickfire 32, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi chipped in with 27, ensuring the chase was wrapped up with more than five overs to spare.
This win marks another final appearance for Iyer in a matter of days - a testament to his leadership credentials across formats and levels. With the sting of the IPL final defeat still fresh, the T20 Mumbai League offers Iyer a swift shot at redemption. The India star will be desperate to clinch a trophy, which he deserves more than anyone.
The SOBO Mumbai Falcons will now face Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals in Thursday's final. The Royals, led by Siddesh Lad, cruised past Eagle Thane Strikers in the first semi-final thanks to Rohan Raje's fiery five-wicket haul and Lad's unbeaten 74 in an eight-wicket win. The final will be played at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday (June 12).
