Shubman Gill, India's Test and ODI captain, has made a full recovery from a neck injury that sidelined him from the second Test in Guwahati and the ongoing ODI series against South Africa.
He will rejoin the T20I squad as vice-captain for the upcoming five-match series starting December 9 in Cuttack, with Suryakumar Yadav continuing as the regular T20I skipper.

The India star joined the BCCI CoE in Bengaluru for the final phase of his rehabilitation, and it looks all clear for him following the neck issue in Kolkata.
A BCCI source confirmed the development to PTI, "Gill has recovered fully and will be back as vice captain".
The squad announcement is scheduled for later today, following the selection committee's deliberations. India are playing against South Africa in the 2nd ODI of the series, and the BCCI is also likely to unveil the jersey for the T20 World Cup as well.
This T20I engagement comes after India's 0-2 defeat in the Test series against the Proteas. The source also dismissed rumors of an imminent meeting between board officials and senior players Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and head coach Gautam Gambhir to address reported dressing room discord, noting, "No meeting will take place mid-series. We will see what's to be done once the series is over".
The Indian T20 team for the South Africa series is likely to have minimal changes from the recent Australia series. After a decent outing down under, the majority of the players are supposed to keep their place. This is the penultimate bilateral engagement for India ahead of the T20 World Cup, as they play New Zealand at home at the turn of next year.
Under Gautam Gambhir, the Indian team has a decent T20 record as they have won all of their bilateral engagements and also won the Asia Cup T20 a couple of months back.
