World Cup 2023 is all set to begin from October 5. A total of ten teams will play a match each against each other in the round-robin stage and try to finish in the top four to book a place in the semi-finals. The final match will be played on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
India kick off their campaign on October 8 against Australia and the fans are eagerly waiting to witness the campaign of the Men in Blue, who are in hunt of their first ICC trophy since 2013. When India last won the World Cup it was played at home in 2011. The ICC marquee event is being held in India this time as well and the hosts are being considered the favourites.

The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and MohammeShami are most certainly going to feature in their last ODI World Cup. They are expected to give it their all and make their last 50-over World Cup campaign a memorable one.
However, they would definitely need help from a handful of first-timers to win the coveted trophy in front of the home fans. Six players out of the 15-member squad have never featured in the ODI World Cup before.
Shubman Gill: The second ranked ODI batter in the World Cup will be one of the key players for India in the World Cup 2023. The 24-year-old's own form and the opening stands with captain Rohit Sharma would be crucial for India's success.
Shreyas Iyer: After missing out on the last two T20 World Cups, Shreyas Iyer regained fitness and form just on time to avoid another heartbreak. The 28-year-old batting star will be seen leading the charge for India in the middle-order.
Suryakumar Yadav: The number one ranked T20I batter in the world is now set to feature in his first-ever ODI World Cup at the age of 33. Despite his very average ODI numbers, coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma have expressed a lot of confidence in him and kept him in the squad. His finish touch towards the end of the innings can do wonders on any given day.
Ishan Kishan: The Bihar-born wicketkeeper-batter made a place for himself in the squad but performing consistently in the ODI format. His exceptional knock against Pakistan at the Asia Cup 2023 under extreme pressure has ensured India of a solid left-hand batting option in the middle-order.
Once considered as a backup opener and wicket-keeper, the 25-year-old would be competing against Shreyas Iyer for a spot in middle-order as a specialist batter.
Shardul Thakur: The 31-year-old pace-bowling all-rounder is very likely to play the role of the third pacer and a batter lower down the order. His multi-dimensional skills make him a handy customer for India at the World Cup 2023.
Mohammed Siraj: The 29-year-old form Hyderabad will be India's lead pacer at the World Cup 2023. His exponential growth in the last two years have seen him become the number one ranked bowler in the ODI format. His ability to breathe fire even on sub-continent tracks makes him India's key player in the campaign.
