Shubman Gill to Take 4-5 Personal Net Bowlers to New Zealand, Skipper to Bear Expenses: Reports
India Test captain Shubman Gill is reportedly taking an unusual step to prepare for the upcoming red-ball series against New Zealand, with the 26-year-old set to take four to five personal net bowlers on the tour at his own expense.
According to a report by PTI, Gill will bear all expenses for the bowlers, who will train exclusively with him during India's preparations for the two-Test series.

Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) arranges designated net bowlers to assist the squad during overseas tours, this is understood to be the first instance of an Indian cricketer personally funding a group of bowlers for individual preparation.
"This is interesting. Gill isn't playing India A Tests as he also has to play ODIs. Hence, he is leaving for New Zealand on October 23 or 24. The four to five bowlers accompanying him will have all their expenses paid by Gill," a BCCI official was quoted as saying by PTI.
Gill Prioritises Test Preparation Ahead of New Zealand Challenge
Gill's early departure is expected to provide additional preparation time ahead of a challenging assignment in New Zealand, where conditions can favour seam bowling and test a batter's technique against movement.
The Indian captain enjoyed an impressive five-Test series in England earlier this year, scoring 754 runs. He will now look to carry that form into another demanding overseas tour, with his batting and leadership expected to play important roles in India's campaign.
Gill will not feature in the India A Test matches against New Zealand A, as his ODI commitments form part of the packed international schedule. Arranging dedicated net bowlers could allow him to work on specific aspects of his batting before the senior team's Test series begins.
Shubman Gill may play in Ranji
Before travelling to New Zealand, Gill is expected to return to domestic cricket for Punjab's Ranji Trophy fixture against Chhattisgarh, beginning on October 18 in Mullanpur. He had missed Punjab's opening match due to personal reasons.
The Ranji Trophy match will offer Gill an opportunity to gain valuable red-ball match practice before heading overseas. With the New Zealand Test series approaching, his domestic outing and additional training sessions could form important parts of his preparation.
