"By pulling out early from the Big Boss for the election campaign in Gujarat in favour of Narendra Modi, he suffered a loss of Rs 6 crore," asserted Mrs Sidhu.
"...But he did not bother about this because we both are in politics for a mission, for the service of people. He was ready to leave everything," she claimed.
The former cricketer had participated in TV reality show Bigg Boss season 6. However, he was asked to leave the show for campaigning in Gujarat where Modi own the assembly elections for third consecutive time.
Mrs Sidhu earlier had accused BJP of ignoring its star campaigner and said, "How can you let an honest leader survive? One who does not believe in corruption, does not support criminals, does not become party to commission system, what good can he do to party?"
"So, finally you pair up to push him aside, make him feel suffocated in the system," added Mrs Sidhu while igniting speculations regarding her husband's resignation as a politician.
However, BJP President Rajnath Singh spoke to Sidhu on Friday. The party president reportedly asked BJP National General Secretary JP Nadda to mediate and sort out the differences.
Meanwhile, Raj Kumar Verka, Congress MLA from Amritsar West proposed Sidhu to join the party saying, "I have sent the proposal to Rahul Gandhi to welcome Navjot Sidhu in Congress. Sidhu's mother fought on Congress ticket for MLA twice."
He also added, "His father remained Patiala district president of Congress. The children should follow the footsteps of parents. Sidhu made a mistake by joining BJP. He is the right man in wrong party. I invite him to come back to the party with which his parents were associated."
