Jayasuriya, who was the star of the first Test, continued his form on home turf, claiming his ninth fifer in the longest format. The left-arm spinner had removed Devon Conway on day 2, and added the scalps of Kane Williamson and four other batters to finish at 6 for 42 in 18 overs.

With 8 five-wicket hauls in Galle, Jayasuriya is only one behind Rangana Herath (9) and three behind legendary Muttiah Muralitharan (11) on the list for most fifers at the Galle International Stadium in Tests. Here is a look at the most Test fifers in Galle:

Williamson's struggle ended for a 53-ball 7 as the star batter fell edging to Dhananjay de Silva at slip off Jayasuriya, who also removed Glenn Phillips, Tom Blundell and Tim Southee. Jayasuriya-De Silva bowler-fielder combo combined to dismiss five Kiwi batters.
