The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 knockouts are set to start from Monday (December 9). As the competition enters its knockout phase, 10 teams remain in contention for the coveted domestic T20 title.
Six teams-Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Mumbai, Delhi, Baroda, and Saurashtra-have earned direct entry into the quarterfinals. Saurashtra secured their spot as the best-performing second-placed team from the group stages.

Meanwhile, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Andhra Pradesh will compete in the pre-quarterfinals, battling for the remaining quarterfinal berths.
The group stages witnessed some unexpected exits, including heavyweights Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Defending champions Punjab also failed to advance, adding to the drama of this year's tournament.
The knockout matches will take place in Bengaluru, with all games, including the final, being hosted at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The pre-quarterfinals are set to kick off on December 9, followed by the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the grand finale on December 15.
Both the pre-quarterfinal matches are set to be played on Monday (December 9).
