The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 has entered its business stage as the knockouts have commenced. After the pre-quarterfinals on Monday (December 9), eight teams now remain in the hunt for the title.

The coveted domestic T20 tournament saw the final two teams advance to the quarterfinals. Bengal secured a close victory over Chandigarh, while Uttar Pradesh prevailed over Andhra Pradesh in the two matches.

The top teams of each group along with the best 2nd-placed team had advanced to the quarterfinals already - Baroda, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, Vidarbha, Saurashtra being the teams. With the arrival of Bengal and UP - now the quarterfinals are completely filled.

The matches will be hosted across two venues - the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the Alur Cricket Stadium - both known for their excellent facilities and competitive pitches. All four matches will be played on Wednesday (December 11) across the two venues in Bengaluru.

Baroda will take on Bengal at 11:00 AM at Chinnaswamy Stadium, promising a battle between Baroda's aggressive style and Bengal's steady approach. Later in the evening, at 4:30 PM, Delhi, a team filled with experienced players, will face Uttar Pradesh, known for its youthful exuberance, at the same venue in what is expected to be a thrilling contest under the lights.

Meanwhile, the Alur Cricket Stadium will host two more exciting matches. The day begins at 9:00 AM with a clash between Madhya Pradesh and Saurashtra, two well-rounded teams with contrasting strengths. Madhya Pradesh's balance in both departments will be tested against Saurashtra's tactical brilliance and depth. At 1:30 PM, Mumbai, a domestic cricket giant, will face Vidarbha, a team that has consistently surprised stronger opponents with its resilience and determination.
