Smriti Mandhana scripted history with his seventh ODI hundred which came in the second match against South Africa Women at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday (June 19).
Mandhana, who scored match-winning 117 runs in the first ODI, equalled former captain Mithali Raj's record for most ODI hundreds by an India Women batter. Mithali played 232 ODI games for India and finished her career with seven hundreds and 64 fifties.

The 27-year-old opener, on the other hand, took just 84 matches to slam his seventh ODI hundred. The India Women vice-captain has also hit 27 ODI fifties till date.
Smriti Mandhana smashed 11 fours and a six en route to his 103-ball hundred. The Mumbai-born batters, who is well aware of the Bengaluru surface as she captains Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Women's Premier League (WPL), became the first India Women batter to smash back-to-back hundreds.
The southpaw scored a total of 136 runs off 120 balls (18 fours and 2 sixes) and was dismissed by left-arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba in the 46th over.
The third-wicket partnership between Mandhana and her captain Harmanpreet Kaur accounted for 171 runs off just 136 balls. Later, Harmanpreet also smashed an unbeaten hundred and helped India Women finish at 325/3.
Smriti Mandhana jumped two places to the third spot in the latest ICC women's ODI ranking for batters after her hundred in the first ODI. She is the only India Women batter in the top 10 of ODI batting rankings.
The hundred helped India set a 266-run target in the first game. South Africa Women were bundled out for 122 and lost by 143 runs. The 3-match series will conclude on Sunday, June 23.
