Smriti Mandhana Smashes Fastest ODI Century : Know About Her Family's Support, Brother's Hustle & Oh...the Ever-Supporting Boyfriend

Smriti Mandhana, the fearless opener and captain in Harmanpreet Kaur's absence, continues to light up the cricketing world, not just with her bat, but with the extraordinary support system surrounding her.

You know what they say - behind every successful athlete is a family that plays an unsung, yet vital, role in shaping that champion. And Smriti's journey is no different.

Smriti Mandhana

Record-Breaking ODI Innings

To kick things off, let's talk about her record-breaking innings. In the third ODI against Ireland, Smriti shattered records and expectations alike, achieving the fastest One-Day International century by an Indian woman in just 70 balls. Let that sink in - 70 balls. With a jaw-dropping 12 boundaries and seven sixes, she powered her way to a magnificent 135-run knock before being caught out. The previous record was held by none other than Harmanpreet Kaur, who had reached her century in 87 balls.

The Woman Behind the Bat

But, hey, we already know her cricketing prowess. What about the woman behind the bat? Smriti's roots run deep with her family, who have been her foundation since day one.

Who Are Smriti Mandhana's Parents?

Her father, Shrinivas Mandhana, is nothing short of a proud father. A district-level cricketer himself, he always dreamed that one of his children would take the cricketing world by storm. While his own cricket ambitions didn't come to fruition, he made sure that his children didn't face the same roadblocks. Not only does he manage Smriti's cricket schedule, but he also runs the family-owned café, the SM-18 Café in Sangli (per Sports Keeda).

From being Smriti's pillar of support to making sure the family business thrives, Shrinivas is truly the unsung hero behind her stardom.

Her mother, Smita Mandhana, might not be in the limelight, but her role is equally crucial. As a homemaker, she manages Smriti's diet, wardrobe, and the other aspects that keep the cricketing star in tip-top shape. While Smriti is busy smashing records, Smita ensures that everything else runs like clockwork - and that's no small feat.

The Brother Who Bowls and Builds Dreams

Then there's Shravan Mandhana, Smriti's older brother, who was once a cricketer himself and represented the state of Maharashtra. Now, he's not just bowling in the nets but also helping Smriti build her entrepreneurial dreams. In fact, it was Shravan who took charge of the family café, SM-18, after Smriti got the ball rolling with her idea.

She thanked him with an Instagram post that reads like a heartfelt tribute to his hard work: "As a kid I always wanted to open a restaurant or a cafe, being a big foodie myself. Few years back I decided to open @sm18cafe_by_smriti_mandhana but did not know how to start or run it. So I asked bhaiya if he would be keen to look after it. And now 3 years down the line I see it grow as one of the best cafés in the city and all credit goes to my brother who worked hard to make my dream come true. Thank you bhaiya."

That's the kind of family Smriti Mandhana has behind her - supportive, hardworking, and always cheering her on.

Is There a Love Story Brewing?

Now, let's address the elephant in the room. While Smriti Mandhana keeps her personal life largely under wraps, the media has been buzzing with rumors about her relationship with music composer Palash Muchhal. Palash, brother of Bollywood singer Palak Muchhal, is believed to be Smriti's boyfriend.

Though Smriti hasn't made any official announcements, the rumour mill has been quite loud, especially after Palash dedicated a song to her at one of his live concerts. While the couple keeps things private, their chemistry seems undeniable.

A Family That Supports

For Smriti, the sky is the limit, but she's certainly not flying solo. Behind every powerful shot, every record broken, and every milestone reached, there's a family cheering her on from the sidelines, proving once again that behind every successful woman is not just a great team - but an even greater family.
