Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced Sneh Rana as the replacement for injured all-rounder Shreyanka Patil for the remainder of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025. Shreyanka, who played a pivotal role in RCB's title-winning campaign last season, was ruled out due to a shin injury.
This setback adds to RCB's injury concerns as they aim to defend their title. Shreyanka Patil, known for her impactful performances, was the leading wicket-taker in the WPL 2024, claiming 13 wickets in eight matches, including a match-winning 4-12 in the final against Delhi Capitals.

Her absence leaves a significant void in RCB's bowling department, which has already been weakened by injuries to key players like Asha Sobhana and Sophie Molineux. Additionally, the team is without Sophie Devine, who took a mental health break, and Kate Cross, sidelined with a back injury.
Speculation over Shreyanka's availability grew when she was not seen with the team during the first leg of WPL 2025 in Vadodara. Sources revealed to IANS that she has been nursing a shin injury since last year's T20 World Cup. Confirming her unavailability, RCB quickly moved to secure Sneh Rana as a like-for-like replacement.
Sneh Rana, a seasoned off-spin all-rounder, joins RCB from Gujarat Giants for INR 30 lakh. She brings valuable experience to the Smriti Mandhana-led side, having previously captained Gujarat Giants in the WPL. Rana was part of RCB's pre-season camp.
She joined the main squad in Vadodara after Shreyanka was ruled out. Her presence is expected to bolster the depleted RCB spin-bowling lineup. Despite the injury setbacks, RCB showcased resilience by successfully chasing 202 against Gujarat Giants in their opening match.
Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh starred with an unbeaten 26-ball 64, supported by Kanika Ahuja's 30 not out and Ellyse Perry's 57. Their remarkable performance set a new record for the highest successful chase in WPL history.
RCB will next face Delhi Capitals, two-time runners-up, in Vadodara on Monday. With Rana's inclusion, the defending champions will look to maintain their winning momentum as they continue their title defence in WPL 2025.
