Sourav Ganguly back in IPL 4 but fails to hamper Bengal poll

Kolkata, May 4: Tuesday, May 3 was a rejoicing day for all the Bengali people after receiving the news that Dada - Sourav Ganguly once again back in IPL 4 as a warrior. But the news, as it was suspected initially, did not cramp the polling mode of the people in the state.

West Bengal held the fourth phase of the Assembly polls in the crucial 63 constituencies including Singur and Nandigram on Tuesday.

Soon after the news that Ganguly will replace Asish Nehra and play for the Pune Warriors, many people started speculating that cricket frenzy Bengal people may not turn up for the polling instead celebrate Dada's news.

However, proving all these speculations wrong, polling records show that above 87 percent voters turned out on Tuesday and the number is up by 4 percent from the tally in past elections.

58 percent polling was recorded till 1 pm in Singur and Nandigram, two places which experienced all political agitations from the controversial time of Tata Nano entry and exit in the state.
