Dada with Didi! Why Sourav Ganguly is going to Barcelona with Mamata Banerjee? Revealed

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is set to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Barcelona, according to reports.

The sources from West Bengal's Nabanna, the State Secretariat of West Bengal has revealed that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be travelling to Dubai and Spain for an investment drive in Europe.

She will be visiting multiple company heads in Spain and then on her way home, would also take a trip to Dubai. The main reason for her trip is to ensure foreign investments in the state of Bengal, which has been deprived of any major industry for some time now.

The trip starts on September 12 and will continue till September 23. And during Mamata's visit to Barcelona, former India captain and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly can also accompany her.

Why Sourav Ganguly will meet Mamata Banerjee in Barcelona?

Although there are certain eyebrows regarding Ganguly's trip with the West Bengal CM, we can predict the left-handed batter will mainly take the trip out of his concern for Bengal.

Ganguly has always managed to steer clear of politics in his life. Despite temptations from various political parties, the 51-year-old is yet to wear any political colours to his name.

And his trip to Barcelona is also said to be apolitical, as the Bengal-born himself wants industry and foreign investment in his state. It is unclear what his role will be in the trip, but maybe Dada will act more as an ambassador for Bengal in the meet. Sources close to Nabanna believe Ganguly's presence will be a massive factor for the West Bengal CM to draw investment from foreign businessmen.
