Sourav Ganguly filed a police complaint after his phone was stolen from his Kolkata residence. The complaint filed at the Thakurpukur police station on Saturday, February 10, revealed that the phone has numbers of several very important persons saved in it.
Also, the number used for the mobile phone is linked with his bank account and also contains other sensitive personal data. Ganguly has requested the police to recover the phone and to ensure that the information it holds is not disclosed under any circumstances.

In his letter to the officer-in-charge of the Thakurpukur police station, the former BCCI president disclosed that he last saw the phone around 11:30 am. An extensive search followed but the phone was not found.
Ganguly was away from home when the theft occurred. The former opener mentioned that he had left his phone at a specific spot in his house on Saturday. Painting works going on at Ganguly's Behala residence, and masons employed for the task are very likely to be interrogated.
Sourav Ganguly is back with Delhi Capitals as Director of Cricket after his stint as BCCI president. He played an important role in the IPL 2024 auction which was held in Dubai in December last year. He is keeping a close watch on all the DC players including their captain Rishabh Pant.
"Rishabh Pant is in good shape. He will play from next season. He will not practice now. He is here till 11th November. We had a discussion about the team with Pant as he is the captain of the team, considering the upcoming auctions," Sourav Ganguly told India Today in Kolkata in November.
Ganguly also recently praised India's bowling unit for their performance in the second Test against England in Vizag. Ganguly suggested that India should prepare good tracks as they have the bowling unit to win under any condition.
