Sourav in politics, not ruled out in longer run: Dona Ganguly

Varanasi, Apr 6 (UNI) Former Team India skipper Sourav Ganguly's wife Dona Ganguly today said ''Sourav entering the political arena cannot be ruled out in the longer run.'' ''Presently playing cricket for India is top most for Sourav and I feel he has a cricket of an year or two still left in him. But entering the political arena is not ruled out in the longer run especially after Sourav's departure from international cricket,'' Ms Ganguly maintained while interacting with mediapersons here this evening.

She also admitted the Behala (Kolkata) based Ganguly family shared a personal bond with West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharji, but dded ''it has nothing to do with politics but is purely personal.'' Also a gifted Odissi dancer, Dona is in the city to perform at the world famous Sankatmochan Sangit Samaroh which started at the blast-hit Sankatmochan temple here this evening.

When queried about the future of her little daughter Sana, Ms Ganguly said ''right now she is into everything and this is not an age where she will decide whether to wear the dancing costume or the cricketing gear.'' Dona's mother, Swapna, who is accompanying her daughter to the holy city, however, maintained Sana was more into dance and less into cricket. ''She wants to become a dancer and not a cricketer,'' she claimed.
