Centurion, March 26: South Africa on Sunday (March 26) pulled off the highest successful run chase in T20Is with 6-wicket victory over West Indies in the 2nd T20I of the three match series.
Riding on Quinton De Kock's quickfire hundred, South Africa completed a run chase of 259 with 7 balls to spare on a record-breaking evening as it rained sixes and fours, entertaining the fans.

De Kock (100 off 42 balls) shared an opening stand of 152 runs with Reeza Hendricks (68 off 28 balls) to lay the foundation for skipper Aiden Markram (38 not out off 21 balls) to take the side home and level the series 1-1.
In achieving the chase, South Africa surpassed the previous bests of 246/4 by Bulgaria against Serbia in 2022 and 245/5 by Australia against New Zealand in 2018. The Proteas' previous best was 212/3 vs India in 2022.

Earlier, West Indies rode on Johnson Charles fastest T20I hundred for West Indies to take their total to 258/5 as many records were broken during the innings. Kyle Mayers also scored 51 off 27 balls to share a second-wicket stand of 135 with Charles.
In total, West Indies struck a record levelling 22 sixes in a single innings and 17 fours, South Africa hit 42 boundaries (13 sixes and 29 fours) in their innings to take the match total boundaries to a record-breaking 81.
