Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced a 15-member South Africa squad for the 2023 World Cup on Tuesday. 22-year-old fast bowler Gerald Coetzee, who has played two ODI matches so far, has been included.
The Temba Bavuma-led side looks very strong on the pacer. The batting unit consists of Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen. The side has two star wicket-keeper batters in Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen.

The pace unit includes the likes of Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada Sisanda Magala, and all-rounder Marco Jansen. Left-arm spinners Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj will take care of the spin department.
The likes of Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, Bjorn, Fortuin and Wayne Parnell - who are part of the upcoming ODI series against Australia from Thursday, September 7 - have been left out of the squad.
Majority of the players picked in the squad have a vast experience of playing in India because of their IPL stints. Captain Bavuma, Reeza Hendricks, Gerald Coetzee, and Keshav Maharaj are the only four players who haven't featured in the IPL.
The 30-year-old wicket-keeper batter has made the decision to retire from ODI cricket after the 2023 World Cup. The southpaw had announced his decision to retire from Test cricket in December 2021.
