South Africa defeated England by 229 runs in the 20th ODI of the current World Cup 2023 in Mumbai on Saturday.
South Africa batted first and piled up 399/7 in 50 overs, whereas England could only manage 170/9 in 22 overs owing to Reece Topley's injury.

Meanwhile, Marco Jansen spearheaded South Africa's push with the ball following a solid showing with the bat. As England were down to 24/3 in the massive 400-run chase, he took two wickets and Lungi Ngidi took one.

Kagiso Rabada then added to the misery by dismissing Ben Stokes for 5 runs (8). Gerald Coetzee then joined the celebration after knocking out Jos Buttler and Harry Brook in the same over.

Coetzee added a third wicket to his tally when he dismissed Adil Rashid for ten runs (14). Ngidi then ran Willey out for a run-a-ball 12 as England passed the 100-run mark.

Previously, Henrich Klaasen's magnificent century helped South Africa reach 399/7 in 50 overs. Klaasen scored 109 runs from 67 deliveries, including 12 fours and four sixes.

The middle order batter hit a century in 61 balls. Meanwhile, Marco Jansen hit an undefeated 75-run knock off 42 balls.

Apart from the duo, starter Reeza Hendricks contributed a good 85(75) before being dismissed by Adil Rashid.

Rassie van der Dussen also reached 50, while stand-in skipper Aiden Markram scored 42 off 44 balls.
