Australia will be taking on South Africa in an important clash of the Women's T20 World Cup on Saturday (February 18).
The pivotal Group A encounter of the Women's T20 World Cup is set to take place at St. George's Park in Gqeberha as the hosts South Africa will be aiming to defy the odds and beat the high-flying Aussie side.
Australia have win all of their first three matches in the group and currently sit on top of Group A. They have had a sublime start to the campaign, beating New Zealand, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka quite comprehensively in their first three matches.
South Africa lost their opening match of the World Cup at the hands of Sri Lanka, but have come rallying back in their next game against the Blackcaps to open their account in the points table. The clash with Australia will be a monumental one as a victory can bolster their semi-final hopes.
Australia will be going with a full-strength team as Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning will play a key part in their batting department, Healy is the current highest scorer in the tournament with 146 runs. Speedster Megan Schutt top in the wickets column with 7 wickets, while Ashleigh Gardner has 6 wickets to her name so far.
The Proteas completed a crushing victory over New Zealand mainly because of their bowling performance. And the hosts will look for the same from Nonkululeko Mlaba, Chloe Tryon and co. against a strong Australian side on Saturday. Tryon played a fantastic knock with the bat as well for them in the last match, but they need runs from Marizane app and Tazmin Brits at the top of the order.
