Sreesanth hits back at Chappell; will not change for critics

By Staff

Sydney, Oct 16 (UNI) After been called as an ''accident waiting to happen'' by Ian Chappell, it was the turn of the Indian speedster Sreesanth to hit back at the former Australian captain making it clear that he will not change to satisfy critics.

The 24-year-old Sreesanth was in thick of action in the ongoing India-Australia future cup series and came under lot of flak for his on field antics, which led the Aussie to comment that ''The BCCI should do him a favour and suspend him for a meaningful period.'' The Kerala express in a scathing reply to the said, ''I feel I am OK. I feel Ian should really look at the video of the last few games. I don't need a ban.'' ''I can learn. I'm grown up enough to realise how to play cricket. I love the game,'' he added.

Sreesanth, who has so far had several brushes with the conduct code in his small cricketing career spanning 11 Tests and 32 one-day internationals, the latest was his on field histronics against the visiting Australian Team on this tour. However, Sreesanth said that he must remain true to his instincts.

''It's not a new Sreesanth. I am trying to find that exact limit between really bad and really good. See how far I can go,'' Sreesanth was quoted by Herald Sun.

The hot headed pacer also made it quite clear that he would like to get a break from people who keeps on harping on his behaviour, saying ''if there is a need to bring change it wil be for the good.'' ''I am not bothered, but I do respect Ian Chappell. I loved the way he played the game. However, I do not need a break,'' he said.
