Sreesanth optimistic about winning Twenty20 Cup
Kochi, Sep 7 (UNI) Rating India's chances high of winning the forthcoming Twenty20 World Cup Championship in South Africa, pacer S Sreesanth today said National Team is preparing to face the challenges of the latest version of cricket.
Speaking to newspersons here after a video album release for which he wrote the lyrics, Sreesanth said though the Twenty20 format heavily favoured the batsmen, the bowlers, especially the speedsters, could make inroads into the opposition's batting line-up with 'slow balls'.
''I was with the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai and practised hard to perfect the art of bowling the slower delivery along with Irfan Pathan,'' he said.
The Team India's build up to the championship was good and the players were on a high after the recent victories in England.
When asked about the chances of India winning the Championship, he said '' as an Indian player I want India to win and the chances are quite high''.
'' Everyone was preparing well for the competition. The recent scoring shots of Robin Uthappa in the sixth one-dayer against England was a testimony to that,'' he said.
The new format would be a great entertainment and the players would go with emotions, he opined.
