Sreesanth turns lyricist with ''Jaago India''

Kochi, Sep 7 (UNI) Adding to his art of bemusing batsmen with his nagging outswinger Indian pacer S Sreesanth is now penning lyrics to uplift the nation's spirits for the upcoming Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa.

The Kerala pacer has written a patriotic song 'Jaago India', which revolves around the aspirations and hopes of the nation for the forth-coming championship.

The video album features Sreesanth along with his brother-in-law Madhu Balakrishnan, who is a singer.

''The song is not just about cricket, it's a call to the nation to come together,'' Sreesanth said.

The song has lines that says ''the nation is with you in loss or failure, let the aim be high, the whole nation is with you in each step that takes you closer to the target.'' The song would be aired by the channel, which telecast the Championship.

Deepak Warrier, an engineering student, has set the tune to the lyrics, which was sung by Mr Madhu Balakrishnan.

''Har raat, har subha, dekha hai khwaab yeh; saara Hindustan, saara Hindustan; jaago; India...,'' and the song goes on.
