Sreesanth's wedding hits controversy; Narendra Modi falsely dragged in

Kochi, Dec 12: It seems that controversy is haunting Sreesanth and it is not ready to leave him even on his wedding day. After all hullabaloos over his alleged role in infamous IPL spot fixing scandal, now another controversy involving Gujarat CM Narendra Modi disturbed the cricketer.

Media reports earlier had reported that Modi would attend Sreesanth's wedding at Kochi, Kerala. However, sources close to Modi claimed that the chief minister was not even aware of Sreesanth's wedding. It seems that his name has been falsely dragged into the case.

Earlier media reports quoted one of Sreesanth's close friends -- Junaid Arfi as saying, "It will be a typical Indian traditional wedding. The wedding will be followed by a reception at a hotel. Chief Minster of Gujarat Narendra Modi has confirmed his presence at the wedding."

Arfi also had confirmed the presence of many cricketers and celebrities from Bollywood and South Indian film industries. Sreesanth tied the knot with his long time girl Bhuvneshwari Kumari on Thursday, Dec 12. The girl belongs to a royal family of Rajasthan.

Sreesanth had made headlines when he along with three other cricketers of Rajasthan Royals team of IPL 6 was arrested from Mumbai. The players were accused of fixing several IPL matches. After spending several days in Tihar jail in Delhi, Sreesanth later was released on bail. The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) slapped life bans on Sreesanth and other cricketers.
