Sreesanth's wife slams Gautam Gambhir, questions former opener's upbringing, stump-mic audio goes viral

By MyKhel Staff

Sreesanth's wife Bhuvneshwari has questioned Gautam Gambhir's upbringing for calling her husband a 'fixer' during Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2023 match between Gujarat Giants and India Capitals in Surat on Wednesday.

Sreesanth and Gambhir had some intense battles in the middle. Sreesanth was seen staring at Gambhir after being hit for boundaries by the southpaw. The former India opener stared back and later got into a heated verbal exchange with Sreesanth.

Gambhir scored 51 runs off 30 balls in the Eliminator to fire his team to a 12-run win and book a clash against Manipal Tigers in the Qualifier 2 which will be played on Thursday, December 7. Sreesanth leaked 35 runs for one wicket in three overs.

The stump-mic has captured the audio of Sreesanth who can be heard questioning Gautam Gambhir's behaviour towards him. "How can he say fixer, fixer," Sreesanth can be heard saying.

After the match, just when Gambhir was talking to presenters, Sreesanth recorded a live video and revealed that Gambhir used unacceptable words against him "for no reason whatsoever". He also accused him of fighting with his colleagues and disrespecting even his seniors.

In a separate video, the two-time World Cup-winning cricketer revealed that he was called "fixer" by Gautam Gambhir.

"I have not used a single bad word or used a single abusive word to him. I only said, 'What are you saying? What are you saying?' In fact, I kept laughing in a sarcastic way because he kept calling me 'Fixer, fixer, you are a fixer, F*** off fixer. This is the language that was used'," Sreesanth said in an Instagram post.

"I am not at all at fault here. I just wanted to clear the air straight away. What Mr Gauti has done, sooner or later all of you will get to know. The words which he used and the things he said on a cricket field, live, is not acceptable.

"My family, my state, everybody has gone through so much. I fought that battle with all your support. Now people want to down me for no reason. Even when my team is doing well, he said things he shouldn't have said. I will surely let you know what he said,” Sreesanth said in a separate video.

"What's the point of representing people if you don't respect your own colleagues? Even in live broadcasting when he is asked about Virat, he never speaks about him, he speaks about something else.

"I don't want to go further in detail. Just want to say I am very hurt and my family is hurt and my dear ones are hurt. And the way he said things…. Just want to say that I haven't used a single bad word or a single abuse, nothing. He just kept on saying words which he always does,” Sreesanth added.

Sreesanth's wife Bhuvneshwari has commented on the video and questioned Gambhir's upbringing. She expressed shock at Gambhir's alleged behaviour despite retiring from active cricket long ago.

"It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level. Even after so many years of retirement from Active cricket . After all upbringing matters a lot and it shows up when these kind of behaviour comes up on ground. Shocking truly shocking," she commented.

Notably, Sreesanth was suspended by the BCCI for his alleged role in 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal. After years of legal battle, Sreesanth got a clean chit. On March 15, 2019, the Supreme Court of India set aside the life ban imposed on Sreesanth by the BCCI.
