SRH Playoff Chances: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday (May 2) suffered their seventh loss of the IPL 2025 season following a 38-run defeat to Gujarat Titans in match 51 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Having kept their slim hopes of qualification alive only last week with an impressive win over Chennai Super Kings in match 43 of IPL 2025 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, last season's finalist suffered another dent in their quest for a top four finish.

Opting to bowl first, SRH bowling unit were at the wrong end of a carnage from Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler as Gujarat Titans posted a challenging total of 224 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs.
In response, Abhishek Sharma had kept SRH alive in the run chase, but excellent bowling from Prasidh Krishna and the other GT pacers stifled their run chase. Pat Cummins and Nitish Kumar Reddy's late cameo proved little as SRH fell short of the target.
With this result, Sunrisers remaining in ninth position with 6 points on IPL 2025 points table and a negative Net Run Rate (NRR) which sees them sit below Rajasthan Royals, who also have 6 points, but are eliminated. SRH, however, can still finish in the top four and repeat last season's feat.
SRH's chances of qualifying are still bleak, but the last season's runners up are still mathematically alive in race for of a top four finish. However, with only four league games remaining, their playoff hopes hang by a thread.
SRH IPL 2025 Playoff Scenario: Now, in their remaining 4 matches, Pat Cummins' side will need to win all the matches handsomely to get to 14 points, which was enough last season for Royal Challengers Bengaluru to get into the top-four due to better Net Run Rate compared to CSK.
SRH also will not only need to win their remaining games but will need a major boost to their NRR, which current reads -1.192, the lowest among the playoff chasing sides. SRH also face four more playoff hopefuls in their remaining games.
Apart from winning their remaining four matches, SRH will need not more than three teams to finish on 14 points. RCB, GT and Mumbai Indians are already on 14 points, while PBKS is on 13 points. So, SRH will need to closely monitor the results of RCB, GT, MI, PBKS and LSG.
SRH is still alive in the race as thing stands and can still dream of the impossible if they replicate RCB's feat from last season. Their next four fixtures will be against the teams above them, starting with the clash versus Delhi Capitals at home.
Aside from their clash against DC, SRH will also host Kolkata Knight Riders in their other remaining home match before travelling to Bengaluru and Lucknow for their final two matches. Here is a look at SRH's remaining matches schedule:
