SRH Playoff Chances: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday (April 25) night bounced back from successive defeats to Mumbai Indians with an impressive win over Chennai Super Kings in match 43 of IPL 2025 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Opting to bowl first, SRH struck with the very first ball with Mohammed Shami setting the ball rolling as regular wickets helped bundle out CSK for 154. While Shami delivered the early blow, Harshal Patel was the standout for SRH with figures of 4 for 28 in his four overs.

In response, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Kamindu Mendis played cameos to take SRH past the target with five wickets and 8 balls to spare, keeping the Hyderabad-based side slightly alive in the playoff race.
With this result, Sunrisers registed their third win of the campaign and moved up to eighth position with 6 points on IPL 2025 points table with their negative Net Run Rate (NRR) seeing them sit behind Kolkata Knight Riders, who also have 6 points. SRH, however, can still finish in the top four and repeat last season's feat.
SRH's chances of qualifying were quite bleak after suffering their sixth loss of the season against Mumbai Indians earlier in the week, but the last season's finalists kept their hopes of a top four finish alive with a win over bottom-placed CSK on Friday (April 25).
SRH IPL 2025 Playoff Scenario: Now, in their remaining 5 matches, Pat Cummins' side will need to win all the matches handsomely to get to 16 points, which has been the magic number for teams to get into the top-four without needing much help from other results and NRR calculations.
Sunrisers can also qualify with four more wins in the 5 matches, which could see them end up with 14 points, but to progress from that position, they would need several other results to go their way, especially the teams around the top four losing most of their games, which is very unrealistic at this stage.
SRH is still alive in the race as thing stands and can still dream of the impossible if they replicate Royal Challengers Bengaluru's feat from last season. Their next five fixtures will be against the teams above them, starting with the clash versus table-toppers Gujarat Titans.
Apart from their trip to Ahmedabad to face GT, Sunrisers will host Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders in their remaining two home matches before travelling to Bengaluru and Lucknow for their final two matches. Here is a look at SRH's remaining matches schedule:
