The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) enter the IPL 2026 season with a point to prove. After a roller-coaster IPL 2025 where they finished 6th in the standings, the "Orange Army" has undergone a strategic overhaul.
While Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) made history as the 2025 champions, SRH fans still reminisce about the 2016 triumph and are eager for a repeat.

After a 2025 season where they finished 6th despite breaking the record for the highest team total (286/6 against RR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have doubled down on their "attack first" philosophy. Under the tactical guidance of Daniel Vettori and the steely leadership of Pat Cummins, the 2024 runners-up are favourites to dominate the powerplay once again.
In IPL 2025, SRH was the definition of "boom or bust." They famously posted 286/6 against Rajasthan Royals, the second-highest total in IPL history, led by a debut century from Ishan Kishan. However, consistency eluded them, leading to a mid-table finish with 6 wins and 7 losses.
At the mini-auction held in Dubai (and Abu Dhabi) in December 2025, SRH was the most talked-about franchise. They secured England's powerhouse Liam Livingstone for a staggering Rs 13 crore, providing the middle-order muscle they lacked last year. They also bought uncapped Indian batter Salil Arora for Rs 1.5 crore, who had a stellar domestic season with Punjab.
Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (WK), Aniket Verma, R. Smaran, Shivang Kumar, Pat Cummins (C), Liam Livingstone, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Kamindu Mendis, Jack Edwards, Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkat, Shivam Mavi, Eshan Malinga, Brydon Carse, Zeeshan Ansari, Sakib Hussain.
