2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is just a few wins away from lifting their second Indian Premier League title after becoming the third team to confirm a playoff spot in the ongoing IPL 2024.
SRH sealed the second spot on the IPL 2024 points table with 17 points from 14 matches thanks to a superior Net Run Rate (NRR) compared to third-placed Rajasthan Royals, who also finished on 17 points.

This is Sunrisers' seventh IPL playoff appearance in 12 seasons with their first-ever qualification coming in their debut season in 2013, while the Hyderabad-based side last finished in the top four in 2020, when they extended their streak to five.
Pat Cummins' second-placed SRH will take on table-toppers and two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders led by Shreyas Iyer in the IPL 2024 Qualifier 1 at the world's largest cricket venue - Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (May 21).
Both SRH and KKR will have an extra advantage playing in qualifier 1 as it gives the loser another shot at booking a spot in the summit clash via the Qualifier 2, where they will face the winner of the Eliminator.
Before they face KKR in the IPL 2024 Qualifier 1 and potentially either the qualifier 2 or the final, let's take a look at SRH playoffs record, stats and results from the previous editions of Indian Premier League:
The Hyderabad-based side has reached the playoffs seven times now and gone all the way once to lift the trophy. They first qualified for the playoffs in 2013 and had last reached the knockout stage in 2020.
In their six previous playoff appearances, SRH has reached the final twice, finishing runner up in 2018, and has exited the tournament three times in the Eliminator stage and once in Qualifier 2. Here is a look at their playoff record:
