The rain gods have opened up in Hyderabad and has jeopardized the IPL 2024 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.

The toss is yet to take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium as the frustrating downpour continues at the City of Nizams.

Although we are still far from it, but a potential washout will unravel a lot of things in this see-saw battle for the playoffs. A share of points can be disastrous for a few teams, while a boost for many.

SRH vs GT: What Will Happen if Match Washes Out in Hyderabad?

Sunrisers Hyderabad will breathe a sigh of relief if the rain continues in Hyderabad, as it would secure their spot in the playoffs. However, there is a downside to it as well. If RR defeats KKR, the 2nd place will be out of reach for the Orange Army.

A washout in Hyderabad would also lead to a virtual knockout match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Saturday. If RCB wins by more than 18 runs or chases a total of 200 with 11 or more balls to spare, they will secure a spot in the playoffs, considering Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants cannot catch up on the NRR.

Delhi Capitals, in fact will have to bid adieu to the IPL 2024 playoffs if it washes out in Hyderabad.

KKR has already solidified their position at the top of the table, while Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings are in contention for the elusive 2nd spot. RCB has no chance of securing a top-two spot and can only qualify for either 3rd or 4th place.
