SRH vs GT IPL 2025: Award Winners, Player of the Match, Post-Match Presentation

SRH vs GT: Gujarat Titans put on a clinical display to register a dominant seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 20 of the IPL 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday.

With this win, GT secured their third straight triumph and climbed to second place on the points table.

The visitors opted to bowl first after winning the toss, and their decision paid immediate dividends. Mohammed Siraj led the charge with a career-best spell of 4 for 17, dismantling the SRH batting lineup and marking a significant milestone by claiming his 100th IPL wicket. He removed the dangerous Travis Head early, followed by Abhishek Sharma, setting the tone in the powerplay.

Supporting Siraj's fiery spell were fellow bowlers Prasidh Krishna (2/25) and R Sai Kishore (2/24), who both picked up crucial wickets during the middle overs. Sai Kishore's delivery to dismiss Heinrich Klaasen, who had begun to look threatening during a brief 50-run stand with Nitish Reddy, was a pivotal moment. Reddy also fell to the left-arm spinner shortly after, and SRH were left struggling at 132/6 with two overs remaining.

Despite a late flourish from Pat Cummins and Mohammed Shami, who added 17 runs in the final over bowled by Ishant Sharma, the hosts could only manage 152/8 from their 20 overs.

Chasing a modest target, Gujarat Titans had a rocky start. Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler were both dismissed cheaply, courtesy of sharp spells from Cummins and Shami, leaving GT at 17/2 after four overs. However, Shubman Gill and debutant Washington Sundar turned the tide with an aggressive counterattack.

Gill, showing poise and precision, anchored the innings with a classy unbeaten 60 off 42 balls, while Sundar lit up the powerplay with a dazzling 49 from just 29 deliveries, featuring two towering sixes and multiple boundaries. Though Sundar narrowly missed out on a half-century-falling to a brilliant catch by Aniket Verma-his knock shifted the momentum firmly in Gujarat's favour.

Gill then found support in Sherfane Rutherford, who once again delivered a hard-hitting cameo, smashing 35* off 16 balls. The pair ensured no further hiccups in the chase as GT cruised to victory in just 16.4 overs, sealing the result with 20 balls remaining.

With this win, Gujarat Titans reinforced their status as strong contenders this season, and they will next face Rajasthan Royals at home on Wednesday, April 9. Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, will aim to bounce back when they take on Punjab Kings at the same venue on Saturday, April 12.
