SRH vs KKR, IPL 2023 Match 47: Rajiv Gandhi Stadium Hyderabad Pitch Report and Weather Forecast

Sunrisers Hyderabad host Kolkata Knight Riders in match 47 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday (May 4) with the match set to start at 7:30 PM IST.

Aiden Markram's SRH head into the match on the back of their third win of this season, while KKR led by Nitish Rana are fresh from their sixth defeat of the campaign. SRH has won 3 of 8, while KKR has also won 3 but in 9 matches.

In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Harry Brook starred with his maiden IPL century as Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 23 runs in a high-scoring match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Now, the two sides will clash at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad, which will host it's fifth match of the season. SRH have lost three and won one match at their home venue so far.

SRH suffered a 72-run loss to Rajasthan Royals in their first match at home, but bounced back with an 8-wicket win over Punjab Kings before being pegged back by Mumbai Indians by 14 runs and followed that with a 7-run loss to Delhi Capitals in the most recent fixture at home.

Ahead of SRH vs KKR 2023 meeting at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, we take a look at the pitch report and weather forecast for the day as some parts of the country have received summer showers.

There is prediction for some overnight and early morning showers, but the conditions are expected to clear later in the day. However, there is more rain predicted around 11 PM IST. So, if the match goes past 11 PM, weather is may play spoilsport in match between SRH and KKR.

Uppal Stadium has been known produce some slow wickets, but has also delivered some high-scoring matches. The average score batting first in IPL at the venue is 158 and batting second is 147. The IPL record at the venue shows that teams batting second have had the most success.

However, in IPL 2023, team chasing has only won once, while the team batting first have won thrice. One noon match and two night matches saw the team defending come out on top, while one of the evening matches saw the team chase come out victorious.

RR defended a total of 203 by restricting the hosts to 131/8 with spinner Yuzvendra Chahal dominating with a 4-wicket haul, while SRH bounced back in the second outing at their home venue, where they chased down a target of 144 with 17 balls to spare versus PBKS.

In the third fixture at the venue, MI set a target of 193 after being put into bat first and in response SRH could only get to 178 following a slow start to the run chase. Both spinners and pacers had an even share of wickets on that day.

In the fourth and most recent fixture, SRH restricted DC to 144, but Axar Patel's all round brilliance saw the visitors leave the field with a victory. In that match, it was an even share of wickets between the pacers and spinners, who claimed six wickets each.
