SRH vs LSG: Sunrisers Hyderabad's home ground, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, has been the epicenter of high-scoring thrillers in the IPL 2025. The team's explosive batting lineup, coupled with the favorable pitch conditions, has fueled speculation that SRH could become the first franchise to breach the 300-run mark in a T20 match.
The anticipation skyrocketed after their record-breaking 286-run total against Rajasthan Royals earlier this season, nearly surpassing their own IPL-best score of 287 from last year.

Adding to the hype, SRH's latest acquisition, Ishan Kishan, made an immediate impact with a stunning century on debut. His aggressive batting, combined with the firepower of Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Aiden Markram, has convinced many that the milestone could be within reach.
With their next and ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on March 27, 2025, fans were eagerly expecting fireworks. However, former Indian cricketer and commentator Deep Dasgupta poured cold water on those expectations, explaining why a 300-run total is unlikely -- at least for tonight.
During the pitch report, Dasgupta analysed the conditions and highlighted crucial factors that may prevent a record-breaking total. While Hyderabad has been a batting paradise, the surface being used for this game is different from the one where SRH amassed 286.
Unlike the previous strip, which had some grass cover, this pitch is entirely barren. Though it is firm and offers bounce, Dasgupta pointed out that the good-length area is slightly abrasive with visible cracks. While these cracks are unlikely to open up, the pitch is expected to slow down as the ball gets older.
He further noted that despite Hyderabad's reputation for high-scoring games, this match may not witness a 300-run spectacle. "Expect a 200-plus total here as well, but maybe not that 300 total, maybe not tonight," Dasgupta remarked.
Meanwhile, LSG captain Rishabh Pant, who won the toss and opted to bowl first, expressed confidence in his team's ability to chase down any target. With power hitters like Nicholas Pooran, Marcus Stoinis, and Quinton de Kock in their lineup, Pant believes his side has what it takes to neutralize SRH's batting prowess.
As the match unfolds, all eyes will be on Sunrisers Hyderabad-can they defy expectations and rewrite IPL history, or will the conditions indeed keep the 300-run dream at bay?
