Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who has time and again pleaded with his pupil Abhishek Sharma to also take singles, won the internet with a hilarous post following the Sunrisers Hyderabad opener's record-breaking night in IPL 2025 on Saturday (April 12).
After five quite knocks in the season, Abhishek set the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad alight with his maiden Indian Premier League century, which powered SRH to an 8-wicket victory over Punjab Kings.

Chasing a massive 246, the southpaw smashed 141 off 55 balls, the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL, to take his team home, ending a four-match losing streak and out of the bottom spot on the points table.
Abhishek smashed 10 sixes en-route to his 141 and reached his century in just 40 balls, the sixth fastest in IPL history. The left-handed batter, who was clearing the ropes at will, took a calm approach to reach the three-figure mark by taking two singles at 98 and then again at 99, leading to Yuvraj's hilarour tweet.
Former India all-rounder Yuvraj was thrilled by this moment of maturity and posted, "Wah Sharma ji ke bete! 98 pe single, phir 99 pe single! Itni maturity hazam nahi ho rahi! Great knock!" Yuvraj also praised Abhishek's opening partner Travis Head, who scored 66 off 37 balls and shared a 171-run partnership with Sharma for the first wicket.
"Well played Travis Head. These openers are a treat to watch," Yuvraj further added before lauding Punjab Kings' captain Shreyas Iyer, who scored a quick-fire 82 runs off just 32 balls, "Great to watch as well."
Yuvraj had adviced Abhishek to also take singles while hitting the bat out of the park on the 24-year-old's birthday last year. "Happy birthday sir Abhishek. Hope you take as many singles this year as many as you knock out of the park. Keep putting in the hard work! loads of love and wishes for a great year ahead!" Yuvraj posted on X on September 4, 2024.
While Yuvraj reacted to Abhishek's ton, Sharma himself credited the former Indian all-rounder and also the current Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav for being there at the time of lows during the post-match presentation ceremony.
"Special mention to Yuvi paji and Suryakumar as well. They have been in touch with me," Abhishek Sharma said in the post-match presentation as he also added that his parents being there is lucky for SRH.
