Abhishek Sharma finally announced himself in the IPL 2025 with a scintillating century against Punjab Kings on Saturday (April 12).

The Sunrisers Hyderabad batter has played a magnificent knock against PBKS at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, where he has reached the century in just 40 balls.

Chasing a formidable target of 246 runs, Sharma showcased exceptional batting prowess and dismantled the Punjab bowlers.

The 25-year-old reached his half-century in just 19 balls, marking the joint-second fastest fifty of the IPL 2025 season and the third-fastest in SRH's history. His aggressive approach included a sequence of boundaries and sixes, notably scoring 20 runs in a single over against Marco Jansen. ​

Abhishek Sharma finally departed after scoring 141 runs in just 55 deliveries as SRH are 222 for 2 after 16.2 overs. Courtesy of this amazing knock, they are on course to register the second biggest successful chase in the history of IPL.

What was written on the Note of Abhishek Sharma?

After scoring the 100, Abhishek Sharma celebrated with a white note revelation as he showed it to the SRH dug out. The SRH players at the bench were all in laugh. Sachin Baby and Ishan Kishan were in spolits while the others celebrated the southpaw's magnificent milestone. It looked mostly a blank white paper with a line in black at the lower side of it. But on the other side, the writing was 'This One is For Orange Army'.

PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer was also interested to check out as he took the paper from Abhishek's hand, while Shashank Singh was seen acknowledging the brilliant knock from the player.

It is something motivational for Abhishek Sharma and his way of presenting to the fans of the Sunrisers Hyderabad. They have come in numbers and amid the dismal season, Abhishek's note simply shows the admiration he has for the SRH faithful. He dedicated his special knock to the SRH fans, a fantastic gesture indeed.

The Punjab player hasn't been amongst the runs this season and needed a big score desperately. Also, after losing four matches in a row, the SRH bench must have been extremely agonized, and this knock perhaps will bring the antidote to their struggles so far in IPL 2025.
