SRH vs PBKS: Amidst the fireworks of Abhishek Sharma's breathtaking 141 off 55 balls, it was Shreyas Iyer's silent yet significant storm that laid the foundation for a thrilling contest at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Although Punjab Kings (PBKS) fell short, their skipper's scintillating 82-run knock ensured they set a towering total of 245/6 - a score that could've won on most days.

Winning the toss and opting to bat, PBKS were off to a flying start thanks to Priyansh Arya's blistering 13-ball 36 and Prabhsimran Singh's 42 off 23. But it was Iyer who anchored and accelerated in style. His 82 came off just 36 balls, peppered with 6 fours and 6 sixes, as he paced the innings brilliantly in the middle overs. With his calm demeanor and precise shot selection, Iyer played a captain's knock that lifted Punjab to one of their highest ever totals in IPL history.
His innings, overshadowed by the chase that followed, was a blend of class and aggression - one that deserved more recognition had the bowlers held their nerve.
Sunrisers Hyderabad's chase, however, was a spectacle of its own. The duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma gave the Punjab bowlers no respite, compiling a massive 171-run opening stand in just 12.2 overs.
While Head blazed away with a 37-ball 66, it was Abhishek who unleashed mayhem. The young left-hander, retained for ₹14 crore, smashed the second-fastest IPL century for SRH (off just 40 balls) and eventually fell for 141 - the highest-ever IPL score by an Indian. His knock included 14 fours and 10 sixes and left the stadium in awe.
Though SRH lost Abhishek at 222 in the 17th over, Heinrich Klaasen (21*) and Ishan Kishan (9*) calmly saw the chase through, finishing it in 18.3 overs and etching their name in history with the second-highest successful run chase in IPL.
