SRH vs RCB: 'Statpadder' Virat Kohli faces Fans Wrath after 118.3 Strike Rate

By MyKhel Staff

Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Virat Kohli scored 51 runs in 43 balls at a strike rate of just 118.3 against Sunrisers Hyderabad today (April 25) in a crucial IPL 2024 match.

The Indian batter had a drastic dip in his strike rate post-powerplay. Kohli made a brisk start to his innings and got to 32 off just 18 balls within the first six overs. But his scoring rate took a mammoth hit after the fielding was spread.

Although Rajat Patidar and others kept up the scoring rate, Virat Kohli struggled to find the fence for his team. His strike rate dipped to 76 after powerplay, as Kohli scored only 19 runs in 25 balls.

Kohli became the first player in IPL history to scored 400 and more runs in ten consecutive seasons. But his batting didn't please the fans as they were not happy with the RCB batter's approach.

Virat Kohli is a Statpadder, says this fan. The RCB star failed to hit a single boundary in the last 25 balls.

This fan was very angry with Kohli and couldn't believe Virat scored at a strike rate of just 118 on a pitch such as Hyderabad.

Taking Virat Kohli to the T20 World Cup is a concern for India? This fan thinks so. We don't necessarily agree with him though.

Some fans also claimed that Virat Kohli only played slowly for his milestones. It has exerted mainly because of Kohli's inability to score quick runs after the powerplay. Kohli's strike rate was 177.7 during powerplay and the way it nosedived is a cause for concern.
