Sanju Samson continues to lead the Royals, who missed out on the title by a whisker last season. The Royals will have the whole squad available for selection. Jason Holder makes his debut for Royals against his former side.

The other players making their debut in this match for their new franchises are Mayank Agarwal (SRH), Harry Brook (SRH), Adil Rashid (SRH) and KM Asif (RR).

What the captains said at the toss in SRH vs RR IPL 2023 Match 4?

After opting to bowl first, Bhuvneshwar said: "Looks like a good batting wicket. Will take advantage with the chase. I'll try my and do the best for the team. Farooqi, Harry Brook, Adil Rashid, Glenn Phillips are our four foreigners."

After being asked to bat first, Samson said: "This is a new IPL with new rules. We have to respect the opponents and play to our strengths. Always feel good to wear this jersey, locking forward to playing in Jaipur."

On Sangakkara and the foreign players, Samson added: "We have a good relationship with each other. Discuss things regularly before games. Four foreigners today for us - Buttler, Holder, Boult and Hetmyer."

SRH vs RR IPL 2023 Pitch Report

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar told Star Sports that wicket will be hard-work for the bowlers and felt as per history, the teams chasing team has won more games and expects the same again.

On the venue and pitch, Manjrekar said: "Once again a fantastic venue, the pitch is more or less central - pretty even boundaries all along. The pitch looks pristine, a bit like how an English pitch would be, covered by dried grass and white in color."

On any assistance for spinners in an afternoon match, Manjrekar added: "There won't be ready-made turn for the spinners. Hyderabad has been a high scoring venue, teams that have won chasing have an average score of 190."

"So that tells you this is a venue where you are better off chasing, because sometimes in the pressure to get runs on the board you end up with just 150-160. The pitch is perfect, one where you would want to chase. In the afternoon, maybe there might be some turn,"
