Gujarat Titans posted a 234-run target for Mumbai Indians after being asked to bat first. Shubman Gill, who went on to lead the franchise in IPL 2024, scored a hundred. His 60-ball innings of 129 runs consisted of seven fours and 10 sixes.

Wriddhiman Saha chipped in with 18 off 16, while Sai Sudharsan scored 43 runs off 31 balls before getting retired out. Captain Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 28 off 13 as Gujarat Titans finished at 233/3.

In reply, Mumbai Indians were jolted by a sensational opening burst by Mohammed Shami who dismissed both the openers - Rohit Sharma (8) and Nehal Wadhera (4).

Cameron Green (30), Suryakumar Yadav (61), and Tilak Varma (43) were the only Mumbai batters who gave GT a fight. No other batter from the team could score in double digits. Mumbai Indians crashed out after getting bundled out for 171 in 18.2 overs.
