The Day 1 of the first Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Galle saw interrupt play twice. The first interruption came just five overs into the game. There was a rain shower again after Tea. A total of 65.4 overs of play saw hosts Sri Lanka score 242 runs for the loss of six wickets.
Sri Lanka were four down for 54 runs after Shaheen Afridi removed the top three of Nishan Madushka, Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis. However, former captain Angelo Mathews (64) and Dhananjaya de Silva (94*) took control to keep the hosts afloat. Wicketkeeper-batter Sadeera Samarawickrama also chipped in with 36 runs off 57 balls.

There are high chances of rain on Day 2 of the PAK vs SL 1st Test as well. The precipitation level in Galle will be as high as 80 percent. The humidity level will surge past 80 percent.
According to AccuWeather it would rain Galle between 2 AM to 3 AM. Early morning rain around 8 AM has also been predicted. Another round of showers around 5 PM has also been predicted. 28 percent chances of thunderstorms overall according to AccuWeather on Monday.
