Sri Lanka will host Zimbabwe in six white-ball games at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, starting with the three-match ODI series from Saturday (January 6) followed by the three-match T20I series next Sunday (January 14).

While the ODI series opener takes place on January 6, the second ODI will be held on Monday (January 8) before the series concludes with the third ODI three days later on Thursday (January 11).

As for recent form, Sri Lanka had a dismal World Cup, having won only two matches in nine, while Zimbabwe, who failed to qualify for last year's show-piece tournament, are fresh from a 0-2 home series loss to Ireland, extending their win-less run to 4.

Sri Lanka, ranked seventh in the ICC men's ODI team rankings, will continue to be led by wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis with experienced batter Charith Asalanka serving as his deputy.

Wanindu Hasaranga, who missed the ODI World Cup due to fitness issue, is back in the squad for the ODI series, but the new Sri Lankan T20I captain's participation in the 50-over series is subject to fitness.

Former captain Dasun Shanaka has also been named in the 17-member home squad. Other notable inclusions in the home side squad are Avishka Fernando, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Maheesh Theekshana, Dilshan Madushanka, Dushmantha Chameera and Dunith Wellalage.

For Zimbabwe, they will continue to be led by Craig Ervine with uncapped off-spinner Tapiwa Mufudza earning a first call up after impressive showing in the domestic season.

Also, regulars Sikandar Raza, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava have retained their spots in the travelling squad alongside the likes of Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Milton Shumba and Tony Munyonga.
