After 2-0 victory in the ODI series, Sri Lanka will host Zimbabwe in a three-match T20I series from Sunday (January 14) with all the three matches set to be hosted at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
While the T20I series opener takes place on January 14, the second T20I will be held on Tuesday (January 16) before the series concludes with the third T20I two days later on Thursday (January 18).

This series, which is the first bilateral T20 series between the two nations, will serve as a platform for the hosts to test their squad depth ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June this year.
As for recent T20I form, Sri Lanka lost an away series 1-2 to New Zealand, while Zimbabwe lost a home series 1-2 to Ireland. Both teams will look to bounce back from the recent disappointments and will be led different players in the T20Is.
Sri Lanka, ranked eighth in the ICC men's T20I team rankings, will be led by spin sensation Wanindu Hasaranga, who made an impressive return from injury with a 7 for 19 bowling dispaly in the third and final ODI against Zimbabwe.

Also making a return to the Sri Lanka T20 side is all-rounder Angelo Mathews, who last played in the shortest format for the nation team in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Similarly, spinner Akila Dananjaya also earns his first call up to Sri Lanka T20 squad since September 2021.
For Zimbabwe, they will be led by star all-rounder and a specialist in the shortest format, Sikandar Raza. Brian Bennett, Carl Mumba and Ainsley Ndlovu will be among the new faces in the Zimbabwe squad.
