The third day of the second Test in Kanpur also could not start on time due to the prevailing unfavourable conditions at the Green Park in Kanpur. The players from both the teams were once again forced to endure a frustrating wait in the dressing room.
Only 35 overs of play were possible on the opening day (Friday, September 27), while not even a single ball was bowled on Day 2. No action took place in the first session on Sunday, September 29 as a fresh inspection was scheduled at 2:00 PM. The rain stopped on Day 2, and there were no signs of rain on Day 3 either, but the wet outfield denied any action to take place.

With almost two days without any play, India players have been waiting eagerly to get back on the field. Fans have been wondering what the players do during the wait when they are not even allowed to use their phone.
Former India and Uttar Pradesh cricketers Suresh Raina and RP Singh have explained what actually happens in the dressing rooms during a rain enforced break.
In an exclusive chat with The New Indian Express, Raina expressed confidence that the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant must be having fun and talking about anything but not cricket.
"I am quite sure the team that has players like Pant and Virat, and captain Rohit himself is a character, must be having fun. They would not be talking about cricket," Raina told The New Indian Express.
The former all-rounder also recalled what he used to do when matches used to get delayed in Kanpur. He also revealed that talking to seniors about his performances was also one of the many things he used to do while waiting for action to resume.
"Thaggu ke laddu aur Mishra ji ke chai aur samose (laddoos, tea and samosa from two famous shops in the city). Anyways Kanpur is a city where you can find great things to eat every 2km and interesting stories as well," Raina recalled.
"You talk about your previous matches in the dressing room. It happens during the Ranji Trophy and Test matches. The players have their favourite beverages, talk to coaches and senior players. I used to talk to senior players like Rahul (Dravid) bhai and Sachin (Tendulkar) paaji about my performance.
He added, "Youths like Pant must be talking about future matches. They are scheduled to tour Australia and then the World Test Championship final is also there next year. I am quite sure everyone must be switched on for the match as umpires usually give updates after every hour. Players are ready for the match despite staying in a different mode during such forced breaks," he added.
RP Singh had a more serious tone to his answer. The former pacer said players complete their pending fitness task and think about the renewed strategy in case of a long rain enforced break.
"Players go to the gym to complete their targets. Someone does cardio while others do lifting. Basically, they try to utilise this time to complete their pending tasks especially to stay fit. They also play indoor sports like table tennis. No matter what, their sole focus is on the match and staying match ready," RP Singh said.
"The left-arm pacer said such a continuous spell of rain also forces teams to change their strategies. The strategies have to be changed in such a situation. In this match, I don't think this will affect the home team but Bangladesh have to come up with new plans," he added.
