Suresh Raina ignored the likes of Babar Azam, Kane Williamson and Steve Smith as he picked his best three current batters in the world while talking on the sidelines of World Championship of Legends 2024.
The former India cricketer picked Virat Kohli without giving any second thought before pausing and taking the names of former England captain Joe Root, and T20 World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma.

Harbhajan Singh was also asked the same question as he picked Jacques Kallis, Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara as his all-time top three batters to have played the game. Aaron Finch picked Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Brian Lara. Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa picked West Indies legend Viv Richard alongside Tendulkar and Lara.
Harbhajan, Raina, Finch, and Uthappa were part of the just-concluded World Championship of Legends 2024. Yuvraj Singh-led India Champions lifted the trophy by Pakistan Champions by five wickets in Edgbaston in Birmingham on Saturday, July 13.
After opting to bat first, Pakistan Champions were restricted to 156/6 by India Champions bowlers. Anureet Singh picked three wickets, while Vinay Kumar, Pawan Negi and Irfan Pathan picked a wicket each. Shoaib Malik top-scored for Pakistan with 36-ball 41.
In reply, India chased down the target with five wickets and five balls remaining. Ambati Rayudu was declared Man of the Match for his 50 off 30 at the top. Yusuf Pathan, who grabbed Man of the Series awards, scored 30 runs off 16 balls.Captain Yuvraj Singh remained unbeaten on 15 off 22.
Talking about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, they have announced their retirement from T20I cricket after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. However, they will continue to play in the ODI and Test formats. India are scheduled to play three ODIs against Sri Lanka in August. It remains to be seen if Kohli and Rohit opt to tour Sri Lanka for the matches.
