
Suresh Raina was the standout performer in the Kannada Chalanachithra Cup (KCC 3), winning the player of the match award in the final.
Raina's team Ganga Warriors won the tournament after they beat Vijayanagara Patriots in the final.
Suresh Raina was outstanding for Ganga Warriors in the KCC final. He scored an unbeaten 54 off just 29 balls with the bat, then picked up two wickets with the ball. Along with that, the former India batter also picked up two catches and completed a runout to help his team with the win. He was given the Player of the Match award for his performance.
It was a fantastic night for the Indian batter as he made a telling contribution in the star-studded KCC tournament. The southpaw overshadowed the other big names like Chris Gayle and Brian Lara - as it was stars' galore in the two-day-long exhibition tournament in Bengaluru.
This was Raina's debut in the KCC and the former India batter thanked Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeepa for the brilliant tournament and vowed to come back again in the future.
"Had a great time playing at #chinaswamystadium again, brings back so many wonderful memories. Thank you #KCC @kichchasudeepa bhai, it was superbly organised and looking forward to the next season," he wrote on his social media.
After the match, the player was also seen speaking in Kannada as the post-match presenter insisted Raina speak something in the local language. Although the player struggled to speak, but he managed to repeat the words that the presenter said, garnering a lot of cheer from the Chinnaswamy crowd.
