Musheer Khan took another massive stride in Indian cricket as he finished his marathon debut Duleep Trophy knock at 181 runs off 373 balls. The innings consisted of 16 fours and 5 sixes.
The 19-year-old, who is the younger brother of India wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Khan, took his time on to settle in, before showcasing his range to leave everyone enthralled. Musheer got a perfect partner in Navdeen Saini, who scored 56 off 144 balls.

Musheer Khan had walked in to bat at number three and showed immense maturity despite wickets falling from the other end. While the others in his team including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz, Rishabh Pant and captain Abhimanyu Easwaran failed to get going under overcast conditions and pace friendly conditions at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Bengaluru, Musheer took the orthodox but now rare Indian domestic cricket route to grind in the middle, before getting in the flow.
India B were seven down for 94, when Musheer and Saini stitched a solid 205-run partnership off 403 balls. The right-hand hustled through India A bowling unit consisting of Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Akash Deep, Tanush Kotian and Kuldeep Yadav, to take his team to a secure position.
The highlight of his innings was the array of shots he displayed. Once he settled down, the pulls, cuts, drives and slog sweeps - all came out. While brother Sarfaraz led a pumped up celebration in the dressing room once Musheer reached his hundred on Day 1 (Thursday), Twitter (now X) was abuzz with his applauds for the budding youngster on Friday. Fellow Mumbai cricketer, and India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav also joined the chorus. Have a look at a few of the reactions.
