T20 Mumbai League 2026: Maratha Royals edge past Andheri to become Champions Twice in a Row

Defending champions MSC Maratha Royals successfully retained their T20 Mumbai League title, defeating ARCS Andheri by eight runs in a nail-biting final at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.

Chinmay Sutar’s composed half-century and a disciplined bowling effort led by Tushar Deshpande proved decisive as the Royals held their nerve to clinch back-to-back titles in front of a packed crowd of over 31,000 fans.

T20 Mumbai League Men’s Final: Royals Edge Out Andheri

Chasing 155, ARCS Andheri were powered by an impressive knock from in-form opener Divyaansh Sksena, who scored 51 off 40 balls — his third fifty of the season. However, every time Andheri threatened to seize momentum, the Royals’ bowlers struck back at crucial junctures.

Sksena held the innings together with useful partnerships, including 38 runs with Arjun Tendulkar and 25 with Pragnesh Kanpillewar, before falling to Tushar Deshpande. Pragnesh contributed a quick 28 off 21 balls before being dismissed immediately after. With the score at 104/5, skipper Shivam Dube walked in, but Deshpande — captaining in the absence of the injured Siddhesh Lad — removed him for just 15. Gaurav Jathar’s late flourish of 23 off 17 kept hopes alive briefly, but Andheri could only manage 146/8.

Earlier, put in to bat, the Royals recovered from a shaky start after Arjun Tendulkar struck twice in the opening overs to reduce them to 29/2. Sutar and skipper Siddhesh Lad then forged a vital 65-run fourth-wicket stand. Lad made a handy 33 off 25 balls, while Sutar anchored the innings with a gritty 61 off 52 balls, retiring out in the penultimate over.

Despite the solid platform, the Royals couldn’t accelerate in the death overs and posted a competitive 154/5.
