T20 WC 2024: Rohit Sharma getting back his form only a matter of time, says Michael Clarke

Rohit Sharma's form has been a major concern for Mumbai Indians. The MI batter has only managed 34 runs in his last five IPL 2024 innings.

With the T20 World Cup on the horizon, the sudden dip in Rohit's form is a massive concern, especially going into the tournament for India.

Rohit started the IPL season with a blistering form. He also scored his 2nd IPL century against CSK in a match. But of late, the form of the MI stalwart has dipped massively. With the World Cup coming up, the India captain would be desperate to get back to form.

In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, Rohit got out for just 4 runs as his dismal outing continued at the Wankhede Stadium. But despite the current lean patch, former Australia captain Michael Clarke believes the India captain's return to form is only a matter of time.

"Rohit, being the wise judge of his own performances, will undoubtedly be disappointed, especially considering his strong start. In my view, he might be feeling a bit fatigued as well. A break to freshen up could do wonders for him, but as the Indian captain and a key player for Mumbai Indians, you're not getting a break. So he's going to have to find form," Clarke said on Star Sports.

"I saw him the other day before the last game batting in the nets when his back was a little bit stiff. He was in a great mood. He's happy, which is a really good sign. He doesn't seem to be struggling with his timing; it's just a matter of getting out. With someone like Rohit, it's only a matter of time before he finds his form again. Hopefully, he stresses less and focuses on his game because he's too talented to keep missing out," the Australian added.

Clarke also said the India captain is timing the ball fluently and will be returning to his best very soon. But the ex-Australia captain also jokingly said that he hopes that Rohit doesn't return to form in the upcoming World Cup.
