Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has taken a jibe at India batter Virat Kohli after India's victory against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024.
India secured a memorable victory over the arch-rivals in New York, but it was solely due to their stellar bowling effort. The batters had an off day as they got bundled out for just 119 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah was the star of the show for India who dismantled Pakistani batters and picked up three crucial wickets. The Indian pacer put a stranglehold in the Pakistan run chase and created a crisis in the middle, from which the Men in Green couldn't recuperate. The 30-year-old pacer was also adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling display, thus earning consecutive accolades in the T20 World Cup.
After the match, expert Sanjay Manjrekar took to social media and hailed Jasprit Bumrah. He mentioned the India pacer as the best player for the team, but while doing that, took a cheeky dig at Virat Kohli and other players, who were getting all the attention ahead of the mega India-Pakistan clash.
"While Indian media obsesses over Virat & Co, Jasprit Bumrah quietly wins games for India single-handedly. By far the best player in the Indian team & has been for a while now. #JaspritBumrah #ICCT20WC," Manjrekar wrote on X.
Virat Kohli has had a dismal outing in the T20 World Cup so far. The paramount batter of the Indian team was dismissed for just 1 run against Ireland. He also got out cheaply against Pakistan, scoring just 4 runs.
India, with two victories, sit currently on top of the Group A points table. They will take on USA in their next match on Wednesday.
